Biography

Research Associate with a demonstrated history of working in the Research Organization with Mycobacterium tuberculosis pathogenesis that causes Tuberculosis which is the oldest known human disease. Skilled in the field of Infectious Disease, Immunology, Vaccinology, Cellular Microbiology, and Molecular Biology. Strong research professional graduated from CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India. Research Interest: Investigating the immune evasion strategies adopted by M. tuberculosis to overcome the protective host immune response. We are specifically interested in elucidating the role of Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) to develop antibody-mediated therapy for TB. Other research projects involve the investigation of epigenetic mechanisms in Human macrophages, Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), and mice to develop host-directed therapy for Tuberculosis (TB). In addition, we are evaluating the long-term efficacy of TLR-BCG vaccines using a prime-boost strategy with the neonatal monkey model.
