My overarching research interest lies in deciphering the complex dialogue between cancer cells and their microenvironment throughout tumor development and metastasis. We are particularly fascinated by how this cross-talk is co-opted to drive the vicious cycle of disease progression in primary and secondary sites. Over the past two decades, my lab has built a specialized expertise in pivotal signaling families that govern these interactions. Our work has provided significant insights into the roles of key pathways and adhesion molecules in promoting tumor growth, angiogenesis, and dissemination which guide our efforts to develop novel therapeutic approaches for advanced cancers.
