Christina Nannou is an Assistant Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Democritus University of Thrace (Kavala, Greece). She holds PhD in Environmental Analytical Chemistry (2018), an MSc in “Analytical Techniques & Applications” (2013), and a BSc in Chemistry (2010) from the University of Ioannina. She was a Postdoctoral research fellow at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from 2019 to 2022. She worked as an Assistant Professor at the International Hellenic University from 2022 to 2024. Her research focuses on advanced mass spectrometry techniques combined with novel materials for the target and non-target analysis of emerging contaminants. Her main research interests include the implementation of analytical tools for the assessment of the environmental impact of emerging contaminants of anthropogenic origin, the elucidation of TPs, chemometrics, and advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). She is an expert (>10 years experience) on HRMS, emphasizing Orbitrap mass analyzer. She is also skilled at Quality Management systems. She has participated in 12 research projects as a research associate while for her Post-Doc research, she earned a grant from the State Scholarship Foundation. She has joined the European Union Reference Laboratory -Fruit and Vegetables in Almeria (2018) and the Catalan Institute for Water Research in Girona (2013) for a four-month research stay, respectively.
