Shared autonomous vehicles (SAVs), which have several potential benefits, are an emerging innovative technology in the market. However, the successful operation of SAVs largely depends on the extent of travellers’ intention to adopt them. This study aims to analyse the factors that influence the adoption of SAVs by integrating two theoretical perspectives: the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT2) and the theory of planned behaviour (TPB). A valid survey sample of 268 participants in Da Nang, Vietnam was collected. Subsequently, structural equation modelling was deployed to test the research model. The results indicate that the five dimensions of UTUAT2: performance expectation, effort expectation, habit, price value and hedonic motivation, are mediated by the attitudes toward using SAVs. Further, the TPB constructs, namely attitude, subject norm, perceived behavioural control, along with its perceived facilitating conditions, are all effective predictors of intention to use SAVs. The findings of this study can serve as a crucial resource for transport operators and the government to enhance transportation services and policies.
An important objective of “the Belt and Road Initiative” is to promote the economic growth of countries in the region. China’s successful development experience, proposed in the initial stage of reform, can be summarised as “Looking for development, building the highway first”. This study is the first to evaluate whether logistics infrastructure has indeed contributed to economic growth by employing an error correction model with panel data from 2003 to 2014. In addition, we compare the influence levels of different sectors of logistics infrastructure in different regions, i.e. developed and developing regions. We focus on developing regions as they represent good development experiences for developing countries in the Silk Road Economic Belt. For developing regions, we find that the most influential factors are telecommunication and airway transportation, which should be the foci of attention in order to promote economic growth and reduce inter-region economic inequalities. The research confirms that logistics is indeed a driving force for economic growth in China, and that the contributions of specific sectors can be a useful reference for developing countries to determine prioritisation of investment in different logistics sectors across regions.
This study investigates China’s international research collaboration with the United States through a bibliometric analysis of coauthorship over time using historical research publication data. We investigate from three perspectives: overall, high-impact, and high-technology research collaborations using data from Web of Science (WoS), Nature Index, and Technology Alert List maintained by the U.S. Department of State. The results show that the United States is China’s largest research collaborator and that in all three aspects, China and the United States are each other’s primary collaborators much of the time. From China’s perspective, we have found weakening collaboration with the United States over the past 2 years. In terms of high-impact research collaboration, China has historically shared a higher percentage of its research with the United States than vice versa. In terms of high-technology research, the situation is reversed, with the United States sharing more. The percentage of the United States’ high-technology research shared with China has been continuously increasing over the past 10 years, while in China the percentage has been relatively stable.
This study explores the context of buy-online-and-return-in-store (BORS) policy from an environmental perspective and conducts a comprehensive analysis through the theory of planned behavior (TPB). Adding environmental awareness and awareness of consequences provides a new perspective on how sustainable practices can be enhanced through an omni-channel retail strategy. Survey responses from 405 participants were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results show that attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control are key determinants of practical BORS policy. The study found that environmental awareness significantly influenced BORS adoption directly and indirectly by enhancing perceived behavioral control, whereas consequence awareness primarily affected adoption by shaping consumer attitudes. Compared with consumers who choose to return online, consumers who prefer in-store returns show higher environmental awareness, highlighting the environmental advantages of BORS. In addition, the BORS policy improves overall shopping satisfaction by integrating the convenient process of online purchases and offline returns, allowing consumers to switch freely between different channels. These findings provide valuable insights for retailers and policymakers seeking to promote sustainable consumer behavior to effectively promote the importance of sustainable retail practices.
In the process of the change to mixed ownership of Chinese ports, the allocation of human resources has become increasingly important because of the workforce’s growing concerns regarding losses of benefits. The mediating effect of organizational commitment in the relationship between person-organization fit and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) can provide a significant reference for port managers and regulators, i.e., the government, regarding the framework of human resource systems. The data examined in this study were collected from three Chinese ports (Qingdao Port, Yantai Port and Rizhao Port) that are in the process of changing to mixed ownership. Structural equation modeling was applied to test the hypotheses. The results show that it is extremely difficult for groups with vested interests in Chinese ports to achieve consistency fit in the short term and to accept potential losses. Moreover, it is imperative to adopt a scientific and efficient person-organization fit mechanism and personnel system to achieve a higher level of fit.

Purpose: This study examined the impact of environmental factors on consumers’ intention to use buy online in-store returns (BORS) services. Specifically, it investigates how integrating environmental knowledge and consequence awareness into the theory of planned behavior (TPB) influences consumers’ intention to adopt BORS services. Design/methodology/approach: Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using statistical methods to explore the relationships between attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, environmental factors and intention to use BORS services. Findings: The findings indicate that attitude, subjective norm and environmental knowledge significantly increase consumers’ intention to use BORS services. Additionally, the interaction of attitude and environmental knowledge further enhances consumers’ intention to use BORS services. Originality/value: This study contributes to the limited literature on the drivers of consumers’ adoption of BORS services by integrating environmental factors with TPB. It provides new insights into how targeted environmental education and promotion activities can influence consumers’ behavior toward sustainable practices, providing valuable strategies for retailers to support sustainable development goals.
