AP is an Associate Professor/sector of BIO 18 Genetics/University at L'Aquila, Department of Life, Health and Environmental Sciences. She has an MSc in Biology from the University of L'Aquila and was 110/110 cum laude in 1980. She obtained in 1983 a Master in "Techniques of Aquaculture" from the University of Ferrara. From 1980 to 1982, she was a fellow at the Institute of General Biology, University of L'Aquila, developmental biology; In 1982, she was fellow at CNR Institute of Tissue Typing-L’Aquila; In 1983, she was a fellow—Inst. of Zoology, University of Ferrara; in 1984, head of quality control of foods, Rome. In 1984, she won the position of Assistant Professor (Genetics) at University L'Aquila. Since 2002, she has been a Genetics Associate Professor at University of L'Aquila, Department of Life, Health and Environmental Sciences. Her current research topics include cell detoxification systems, applications of X-ray microscopy/atomic force microscopy (AFM), mutagenicity/ genotoxicity of PM, nanoparticles, nanomaterials, and studies of aDNA (archaeological sites). AP is the author of over 115 IF publications and 151 communications at national/international meetings. AP is member of the AGI (Association of Italian Genetics), SIGU (Italian Society of Human Genetics), SIMAG (Italian Society of Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics), SIN (Italian Society of Nanotoxicology), and member of Epigenetic mechanisms of Crop Adaptation to Climate Change–funded by EU COST (20-24).
