Tufail Ahmed is a researcher at the Transportation Research Institute (IMOB) at Hasselt University. He received his Ph.D. in Transportation Sciences from Hasselt University in 2025 and his master's in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Technology Malaysia in 2019. He has also worked as a lecturer at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Peshawar, Pakistan (2014–2017). His research topics mainly include sustainable transport modes, non-motorized transport, active mobility, and statistical modeling.
