Dr. David Jordan graduated from North Carolina State University in Agronomy and obtained his doctorate University of Arkansas in 1993. He is a William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, North Carolina State University, and the Adjunct Faculty, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, School of Plant and Environmental Sciences, Virginia Tech. His present program emphasis is on research activities associated with peanut-based cropping systems, including developing recommendations for agronomic practices and weed control, and cross-disciplinary recommendations for other pests. Research activities in weed science, in addition to peanut, include the evaluation of short and long-term management practices (herbicides, rotations, tillage, cover crops, other cultural practices) in major crops in North Carolina with an emphasis on managing herbicide-resistant weeds. Additional areas of study include defining interactions of pesticides and adjuvant systems.
