Laura Cecilia Bonifaz-Alfonzo Dr. Laura Cecilia Bonifaz Alfonzo is a researcher in immunology and currently serves as Head of the Health Research Coordination at the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), where she is also a Senior Researcher (Investigadora Titular D). She holds a PhD in Sciences with a specialization in Immunology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and completed postdoctoral training in the Laboratory of Cellular Physiology and Immunology at The Rockefeller University in New York. She is a Level 3 member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNII) and participates as a graduate tutor at UNAM. Her research focuses on dendritic-cell biology, innate and adaptive immune responses, inflammatory skin diseases, melanoma, cancer immunology, and mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy. She has authored numerous scientific publications and has contributed to translational and collaborative research programs in Mexico.
