Fausto Quintavalla graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Parma in 1980. He is Full Professor in Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Parma, where he still works today. Currently holder of the teachings of "Veterinary Medical Therapy" and "Veterinary Medical Oncology". He is president of the II-level Master in "Cognitive Behavioral Medicine-Zooanthropology" and the I-level Master in "Cognitive-Zooanthropological Dog Education", both activated by the University of Parma. He is an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences and seminars, as well as a chairman and member of international scientific committees organized by universities, scientific societies, professional associations, local health units, and veterinary drug companies. Since 1990, he has been an Honorary Member of SCIVAC (Italian Cultural Society of Pet Vets), and of AIVPA (Italian Association of Small Animal Veterinarians) since 2001. He held the role of President of AIVPAFE (Italian Association of Feline Veterinary Pathologists) from 1999 to 2005, and was President of AIVPA from 2008-2011. Since 2014, he has been Vice-President of AIVPAFE. Since 2006, he has been the scientific director of the magazine "Rassegna di Medicina Felina".
