Mohammed Balfaqih is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Network Engineering at the University of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2017. His experience spans university teaching, research supervision, and international collaboration, including previous research appointments at South Ural State University and MIMOS Berhad. His research focuses on wireless communications, vehicular networking, mobility management, the Internet of Things, and intelligent network resource management. His notable contributions include publications on vehicular mobility and blockchain-enabled smart logistics, alongside patented technologies for wireless handover and intelligent shipment monitoring. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of IET and ACM, and holds Professional Engineer status with the Saudi Council of Engineers. His distinctions include the 2018 Best Paper Award from the IEEE Malaysia Communications Society and Vehicular Technology Society and the 2021 Best Paper Award at the 18th Learning and Technology Conference.
