Rongxin Su is a Full Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University, Tianjin, China. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Tianjin University in 2002 and 2007, respectively, all in chemical engineering. He was a Visiting Scholar during 2013–2014 in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of California, Santa Barbara, CA, USA. His research focuses on two fields including biorefinery and protein interaction. The major works about bioenergy production include (1) effective mild biomass pretreatment; (2) high solids enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulose focusing on the diffusion, adsorption and reaction of cellulases; (3) enzyme recovery using ultrasound, pH and centrifugation; (4) understanding reaction mechanism of enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulose.
