In multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) research, the criteria weights are crucial components that significantly impact the results. Many researchers have proposed numerous methods to establish the weights of the criterion. This paper provides a modified technique, the fuzzy method based on the removal effects of criteria (MEREC) by modifying the normalization technique and enhancing the logarithm function used to assess the entire performance of alternatives in the weighting process. Since MCDM problems intrinsically are ambiguous or complex, fuzzy theory is used to interpret the linguistic phrases into triangular fuzzy numbers. The comparative analyses were conducted through the case study of staff performance appraisal at a Malaysian academic institution and the simulation-based study is used to validate the effectiveness and stability of the presented method. The results of the fuzzy MEREC are compared with those from a few different objective weighting techniques based on the correlation coefficients, outlier tests and central processing unit (CPU) time. The results of the comparative analyses demonstrate that fuzzy MEREC weights are verified as the correlation coefficient values are consistent throughout the study. Furthermore, the simulation-based study demonstrates that even in the presence of outliers in the collection of alternatives, fuzzy MEREC is able to offer consistent weights for the criterion. The fuzzy MEREC also requires less CPU time compared to the existing MEREC techniques. Hence, the modified method is a suitable alternative and efficient for computing the objective criteria weights in the MCDM problems.
Multicriteria decision making (MCDM) is one of the methods that popularly has been used in solving personnel selection problem. Alternatives, criteria, and weights are some of the fundamental aspects in MCDM that need to be defined clearly in order to achieve a good result. Apart from these aspects, fuzzy data has to take into consideration that it may arise from unobtainable and incomplete information. In this paper, we propose a new approach for personnel selection problem. The proposed approach is based on Hamming distance method with subjective and objective weights (HDMSOW’s). In case of vagueness situation, fuzzy set theory is then incorporated onto the HDMSOW’s. To determine the objective weight for each attribute, the fuzzy Shannon’s entropy is considered. While for the subjective weight, it is aggregated into a comparable scale. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the HDMSOW’s.
We study a fuzzy fractional differential equation (FFDE) and present its solution using Zadeh’s extension principle. The proposed study extends the case of fuzzy differential equations of integer order. We also propose a numerical method to approximate the solution of FFDEs. To solve nonlinear problems, the proposed numerical method is then incorporated into an unconstrained optimisation technique. Several numerical examples are provided.
The third-order differential subordination and the corresponding differential superordination problems for a new linear operator convoluted the fractional integral operator with the Carlson-Shaffer operator, are investigated in this study. The new operator satisfies the required first-order differential recurrence (identity) relation. This property employs the subordination and superordination methodology. Some classes of admissible functions are determined, and these significant classes are exploited to obtain fractional differential subordination and superordination results. The new third-order differential sandwich-type outcomes are investigated in subsequent research.
This work introduce a new high dimensional 10-D hyperchaotic system with high complexity and many of coexisting attractors. With the adjustment of its parameters and initial points, the novel system can generate periodic, quasi-periodic, chaotic, and hyperchaotic behaviours. For special values of parameters, we show that the proposed 10-D system has a very high Kaplan-Yorke fractal dimension, which can reach up to 9.067 indicating the very complexity of the 10-D system dynamics. In addition, the proposed system is shown to exhibit at least six varied attractors for the same values of parameters due to its multistability. Regions of multistability are identified by analysing the bifurcation diagrams of the proposed model versus its parameters and for six different values of initial points. Many of numerical plots are given to show the appearance of different dynamical behaviours and the existence of multiple coexisting attractors. The main problem with controlling chaos/hyperchaos systems is that they are not always fully synchronized. therefore, some powerful synchronization techniques should be considered. The synchronization between the high-dimensional 10-D system and a set of three low-dimensional chaotic and hyperchaotic systems is proposed. Ten control functions are designed using the active control method, ensuring synchronisation between the collection of systems and the 10-D hyperchaotic system. Finally, using Multisim 13.0 software to construct the new system’s electronic circuit, the feasibility of the new system with its extremely complicated dynamics is verified. Therefore, the novel 10-D hyperchaotic system can be applied to different chaotic-based application due to its large dimension, complex dynamics, and simple circuit architecture.
In this paper, we study the classical Sumudu transform in fuzzy environment, referred to as the fuzzy Sumudu transform (FST). We also propose some results on the properties of the FST, such as linearity, preserving, fuzzy derivative, shifting and convolution theorem. In order to show the capability of the FST, we provide a detailed procedure to solve fuzzy differential equations (FDEs). A numerical example is provided to illustrate the usage of the FST.
