Dr. Wennan Zou is a Full Professor of Engineering Mechanics and Director of the Institute for Advanced Study at Nanchang University. He earned his B.S. (1989) and M.S. in Computational Fluid Dynamics (1994) and his Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics (2000) at Tsinghua University. He conducted his postdoctoral research at Peking University’s State Key Laboratory for Turbulence (2001), and he has been a visiting scholar at Université Paris-Est and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University since 2015. His research focuses on high-order tensor decomposition, turbulence theory, and micromechanics. He proposed a novel recursive tensor decomposition method and achieved breakthroughs in obtaining analytical solutions for the Eshelby inclusion problem. His work is published in leading journals such as Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids and International Journal of Solids and Structures. He has presided over five NSFC projects, authored over 60 SCI/EI papers, and won the Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Second Prize (2006). He serves on a committee of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and has been an editorial board member for Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica and a reviewer for multiple international journals.
