Fabio Montagnaro (b. 1975), Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, is Professor of Chemical Plants at University of Naples Federico II, Italy. His main research activities deal with thermochemical solar energy storage; biomass thermoconversion to produce energy vectors; purification of gaseous streams from pollutants and greenhouse agents; liquid–solid and gas–solid adsorption; synthesis of innovative/eco-sustainable binders; re-use of solid wastes of different natures; chemical processes in fluidised bed reactors; design and modelling of chemical reactors and plants; fractal dynamics in heterogeneous processes. Fabio is author of approximately 170 journal papers, and he has a global “Hirsch index” of 40. His scientific activities are carried out in collaboration with several public and private partners and within internationally and nationally financed projects. An invited speaker/organiser for numerous international conferences, Fabio has been an Associate Editor for The Royal Society of Chemistry (2015–2021) and is currently a Guest Editor/Member of the Editorial Board of other journals. Fabio is the author of the textbook, published by Springer Nature in 2024, titled “Sustainable Energy Production Using Solid Materials”.
