Rizwan Ali is currently working as a Research Scientist at the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC). He is incharge of the Light and Microscopy Unit of KAIMRC. Before joining KAIMRC, he worked as a postdoctoral research assistant at the National University of Ireland Galway. He obtained his Ph.D. in molecular biology and microscopy from Dresden, Germany. He is interested in developing and using microscopy-based techniques to understand better the effects of drugs and nano-particles on a cellular level. His research interests include cellular imaging, cell motility, tissue engineering, and drug discovery. His work mainly focuses on using multi-dimensional time-lapse and high-resolution still imaging to localize and investigate the behavior of fluorescently labeled proteins inside living cells.
