Justus P. Beier completed his medical studies at the Universities of Greifswald and Freiburg, and also in Durban, South Africa. He started working as a Doctoral Student in Plastic Surgery at the University Hospital Freiburg in 1998. He then worked as an Intern in the Department of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery, where he eventually held the position of Assistant Physician. In 2005, he began working at the University Hospital Erlangen and got his board certification in plastic and aesthetic surgery. Two years later, he acquired an additional specialization in hand surgery. Since 2012, he has been the Leading Senior Physician and Deputy Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery at the University Hospital Erlangen. In 2016, he was awarded the title of Extraordinary Professor at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Since 2017, he has been serving as the Head of the Department of Plastic, Burn Surgery, and Hand Surgery at the University Hospital RWTH Aachen. Dr. Beier has vast knowledge in all areas of modern plastic surgery, and his clinical activities are focused on microsurgical reconstruction.
