Petra Obioma Nnamani is a professor of Pharmaceutics & Biopharmaceutics at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). She obtained her B. Pharm in 2001 and her M. Pharm in 2004, both from UNN. During her Ph. D from 2006 to 2010, Petra joined the nanotechnology group at ICS-UNIDO in Trieste, Italy, (2009) for early research training in Nanotechnology. She obtained her Ph.D in Drug Delivery in 2010 from UNN. She was awarded the CV Raman International Fellowship at the Department of Physics, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, India, in 2012, on her novel patented work ‘Prosopis africana seed powder for solid oral pharmaceutical composition’ (NG/PT/NC/2014/565). Following a competitive application process, in 2012 she was awarded the TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme to the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research, Saarland University, Saarbrücken, Germany, in 2013, with her work published in Int. J. Pharm. 477 (2014) 208–217. Petra is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences and of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) and an affiliate member of the African Academy of Sciences. She is co-author of over 85 original papers and reviewer for a number of top journals. She has attended well over 42 international/national conferences/workshops with over 42 contributions. She has received and managed grants.
