After graduating in Chemistry cum laude in 1991 at the University of Messina, Maria Grazia Musolino obtained the PhD degree in “Materials Chemistry for Special Uses” in 1997 and in the same year the Specialization degree in “Chemical process technologies”. After two years of post-doc research (1999 - 2001) spent at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, in 2001 she obtained position as Researcher at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria. Currently, she is Associate Professor of Chemical Fundamentals of Technologies at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria (since 2007), with research activities mainly focused on sustainability issues, in particular on the synthesis and characterization of (nano)materials, to be used for catalytic and energy-related applications. Scientific interests include: the development and characterization of graphene based nanostructured composites and of high entropy materials to be applied as electrode materials; the development and characterization of supported mono- and bi-metallic catalysts and their use in important reactions of green chemistry; the study of the reaction mechanisms in heterogeneous catalysis. Active participation in both European and national research projects is ongoing.
