Prof. Maroula G. Kokotou was born in Athens, Greece (1985). After her bachelor’s degree in chemistry (Department of Chemistry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), she received MSc degrees in “Natural Products” (Agricultural University of Athens) and in ‘‘Chemical Analysis—Quality Control’’ (Department of Chemistry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). She performed her PhD studies at the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), and then she pursued postdoctoral research at the Department of Pharmacology, School of Medicine, University of California at San Diego (USA) under the supervision of Prof. Edward A. Dennis. She is currently an Assistant Professor of instrumental analysis and organic chemistry at the laboratory of general chemistry in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, Agricultural University of Athens, Greece. In 2018, she received an award from the Academy of Athens, and most recently the award L’óreal-Unesco “For Women in Science 2023”.
