Dr. Andrea Perna is currently a medical director at Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza Hospital in the department of orthopedics and traumatology, specializing in spinal surgery and traumatology. At the same time, he is a second-year doctoral student at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome. Dr. Perna graduated with honors in medicine and surgery and earned a specialized degree in orthopedics and traumatology from the same university with honors. He is the author of over 60 scientific publications, with his work cited over 400 times. He has also authored multiple book chapters in internationally renowned series. His research focuses on spinal surgery, traumatology, chronic pain, and biomaterials. He is a member of the Italian Society of Spinal Surgery - Italian Scoliosis Group and serves as a reviewer and editor for numerous international journals.
