Veronica Mocanu (M.D, Ph. D.) is a Professor of Pathophysiology and Eating Behavior at the “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iasi, Romania. She is an endocrinologist, specializing in the treatment of obesity and eating disorders. She is the coordinator of the Center for Experimental Biobehavioral Research in Obesity (OBBEX), which develops research projects in the field of using virtual reality (VR) technology in the study of eating behavior.  In research activity, she is concerned with the study of adipose tissue dysfunction and eating behavior disorders. She is the author of more than 100 scientific articles published in renowned journals. She participated in several projects funded by the European Commission aimed at obesity prevention, including EPODE for the Promotion of Health Equity (EPHE) and the EPODE European Network (EEN).
