Daniela Annibali is a senior scientist coordinating the Translational Research Unit in the Gynecological Oncology Lab at KU Leuven since 2014. She is also currently appointed as visiting senior postdoc in the Oncogenomics Unit at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam. Daniela obtained her PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of Rome in 2009, and then moved for her first postdoc at UCSF, US, to study Myc inhibition in glioma models. In 2011, she moved to Leuven, Belgium, where she studied cancer cell metabolism with Professor Salvador Moncada. In the Gynecological Oncology Lab, she focuses her research on genetic and nongenetic mechanisms of resistance to chemotherapy and targeted therapies, developing and exploiting patient-derived in vitro and in vivo models. Currently, Daniela is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR), and the Task Force for Cancer Research at the Leuven Cancer Institute (LKI).
