Ruxandra Diana Sinescu Băltățanu received her medical degree in 2002 and her PhD in Medical Sciences in 2010 from the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. She joined the university’s academic staff in 2003, became Associate Professor in 2014, and was promoted to Full Professor of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Microsurgery in 2021. She is also a senior plastic surgeon and Head of the Plastic Surgery Unit at Elias Emergency University Hospital in Bucharest. She completed additional training in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery in Germany and oncological plastic surgery at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy. Her doctoral research focused on clinical and surgical protocols for hand transplantation, and she obtained her habilitation in 2021 with a thesis on interdisciplinary concepts in plastic surgery.
