Antonio Šarolić received the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, in 2004. He is a Full Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB), University of Split, where he is the Chair of Applied Electromagnetics and heads the Laboratory for EMC and EM Research (EMLab). He was both the proposer and the Chair of the European COST Action BM1309 (EMF-MED): “European network for innovative uses of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) in biomedical applications”, the principal investigator of a research project “Measurements in EMC and EM health effects research”, and currently leads the ongoing research project “Measurements in bioelectromagnetics (M-BEM)”. His core expertise is in the fields of radiocommunications, wireless communications, antennas, microwave engineering, bioelectromagnetics, and applied electromagnetics in general. However, his main research interest is interdisciplinary, applying this expertise for biomedical applications and for studying the interactions of electromagnetic fields with human body.
