Prof. dr. ir Ans Baeyens was a postdoctoral researcher at the Radiation Sciences department of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa from 2005 until 2015. Since 2015, she has been an associate professor at the Department of Human Structure and Repair at the faculty of Health Sciences, Ghent University, Belgium. Her research deals with chromosomal radiosensitivity, biological dosimetry, and measuring biological effects on human cells after exposure to different types of ionizing radiation. She is head of the reference lab for radiosensitivity testing in Belgium.
