Juha Hyyppä is currently a Distinguished Research Professor, the Director of the Centre of Excellence in Laser Scanning Research (center grant by the Academy of Finland), and the Director of the Department of Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry, Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI), Helsinki, Finland. He currently works on the following topics: mobile and UAV laser scanning, autonomous driving, point cloud processing of various applications, and multi-sensor positioning needed in the above cases. His research interests include laser scanning systems, their performance, and new applications, especially related to mobile and ubiquitous laser scanning systems, including autonomous driving and point cloud processing.
