Ana Armada Bras is a Civil Engineer, CEng, FICE, with 20 years of experience in R&D and consultancy on bio-based composites for durability and hygrothermal risk minimization for buildings and structures. She is a Full Professor of biomaterials for infrastructure at the Department of Civil Engineering and Built Environment, Liverpool John Moores University (UK). She holds an M.Eng. and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from NOVA University of Lisbon. After graduation, she was an Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (2011–2015), a Visiting Professor and Researcher at the University of Campinas (2014), a Research Development Executive at the Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade (2015), a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Bath (2015–2016) and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at NOVA University of Lisbon (2016–2017).
