Dr. Han Jianchun majored in food science and engineering and is a professor and doctoral supervisor. In October 2008, he participated in an exchange program as a visiting scholar at the USDA Idaho Agricultural Service Agency. He is a review expert for Food Hydrocolloids, an internationally renowned journal. His research interests include traditional soybean processing technology and integration technology. He studies processing technology, functional properties, and conformation of plant protein, as well as the extraction, purification, and functional evaluation of functional substances from by-products of agricultural/animal products. He came in third place for a science and technology progress prize in Heilongjiang Province. This led to his completing the National High Technology Research and Development Program (863 program), the "twelfth five-year" National Science and Technology Support Project, the Ministry of Agriculture NongCunBu Conditions of Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Construction Project, the Central Place of Science and Technology Development, the Heilongjiang Science and Technology Research Project of Youth, the youth fund in Heilongjiang Province from the Department of Education, and so on. He has supervised more than 60 master's and doctoral students, published more than 80 papers as the first author and corresponding author, obtained 6 invention patents, and produced 4 utility models.
