The intensive growth of urban freight transport leads to an increase in the amount of transport links, which causes problems such as traffic congestion, an imbalance between the transport services demand and the actual capacity of roads, and the negative impact on the environment. This leads to advanced requirements for urban industrial infrastructures. To optimise freight flows, it becomes necessary to determine the patterns of how drivers choose their routes between the origin and destination points. Drivers participate directly in the transportation process. From the driver's perspective, decision-making about the current route is predicated on the technological parameters of the transportation process (speed, time, etc.), the traffic load of the urban roads, and traffic safety, but also on the level of influence of urban freight flows on the environment. The environmental impact of transportation processes is directly related to the quality of life of city dwellers and increasing of the city sustainability level. This research paper aims to determine the patterns of urban freight flows generation while considering the human factor. The choice of route parameters is significantly affected by individual characteristics of the drivers, which are dependent on the properties of the central nervous system. These properties are grouped by type of temperament. Traffic parameters on different routes have various effects on drivers of dissimilar temperaments. Having estimated the influence of each parameter on the drivers, it is possible to identify preferences of choosing a driving route from among many alternatives. The results of the survey made it possible to determine the parameters of the routes chosen by the drivers moving between the points of departure and arrival of goods, considering the age and temperament of the drivers. The results of the research study described the models for changing the share of origin-destination trips of freight transport, which is performed by drivers of different temperaments along each of the possible routes. This information can be used in modelling of freight transport flows within a city. It could significantly influence the quality of life in the cities and make cities more compliant with social expectations.

The article is devoted to the establishment of information support to determine the patterns of changing the function of gravitation of employees of the urban-service enterprises. It has been established that the development of urban transport systems is impossible without the use of information technology to predict the parameters of the formation and absorption of passenger traffic. The design of urban transport systems cannot be achieved without assessing the impact of traffic improvement measures on changes in traffic and passenger flows. The main parameter by which it is possible to predict the choice of places of gravity by the inhabitants of cities is the function of gravitation between different areas of the city. The formalized functions of the gravitation of urban dwellers are not differentiated by the social composition of the population of cities. In addition, they use only travel time between areas of the city as an independent variable. The article proposes the formalization of the gravitation function of employees of the urban service enterprises using the parameters of the urban transport system, areas of departure and arrival, as well as the cost of movement. A special questionnaire has been developed to obtain the original information. A natural survey was carried out using it. As a result of the processing of survey data using correlation and regression analysis methods, the degree of influence of the studied factors on the value of the gravitation function of employees of urban service enterprises was revealed. Analysis of the correlation values obtained showed that the most significant impact on the value of the gravitation function of employees of urban services is the ratio of the cost of movement between districts and average wages in the city. The least impact is the distance from the area of residence to the place of application of work, the ratio of the cost of one square meter of housing in the area of residence and the average salary in the city, the ratio of the cost of one square meter of housing in the area of employment application and the average salary in the city. However, the compatible influence of all factors can change the level of influence of each factor and its combinations. In addition, it is advisable to take into account the technical and operational performance of urban passenger transport routes and individual transport routes.

Motor vehicle accidents are a leading cause of death and injuries among children of different age worldwide, though many of these incidents are preventable. Buckling young children in age- and size-appropriate car seats, booster seats, using seat belts and also fixing them in appropriate position can lead to a significant reduction of serious and fatal injuries. The key factors simultaneously influencing restraint use include vehicle type, driver’s gender and age, driver’s belt use, child’s age, the presence of other child or adult passenger etc. Furthermore, time of day and day of week also influence child passenger sitting and his behavior. Cross-sectional studies are observational in nature and are known as descriptive research, so application of the method of cross-sectional analysis allow collecting data from many different individuals at a single point in time and observing variables without influencing them and at the same time to provide understanding parents’ attitude towards children safe transportation.

The article studies the development of crowd shipping technologies in the Old Town of Bratislava. The paper aims to assess the potential for implementation of the crowdsourcing technology in the transport system of Bratislava. Methodology: An interview with the entrepreneurs in this area was conducted to assess the potential demand. In the survey, we collected information about type of goods; operations, quantities, and frequency of delivery; willingness to pay for one delivery among others. Based on the results, the freight demand, and its characteristics were assessed. The second part of the paper is devoted to assessing the supply of logistics to meet the demand. A survey of the willingness of ordinary travelers to work as an occasional courier was conducted. In the end, the equilibrium of demand and supply in the crowd shipping market in Bratislava is presented. The regression and correlation analysis were performed to understand the relationship between parameters of demand and delivery quantities in the first part of the research, sociodemographic characteristics of nonprofessional couriers, and the maximum weight of the parcel nonprofessional couriers agree to delivery. The willingness to pay per delivery was determined for respondents of different genders. Key findings: The results of the survey allowed us to estimate the freight demand for the Old Town of Bratislava, as well as to understand the needs of potential demand for crowd shipping services. The results of the second questionnaire show the sociodemographic characteristics of nonprofessional couriers (age, gender, gender, income, travel time) significantly influence the decision to participate in the delivery market.

Food product transportation is one of the most problematic tasks considering the specific expectations in the context of the transport conditions. It seems to be a significant challenge for the freight carriers’ decision-makers. The proper organization and management of that process is the basis for the appropriate fulfilment of the needs of customers, related, among others, to the proper quality of delivered products (such as freshness, expiration date, etc.). The additional challenge in this context is the efficient delivery at the city area, taking into account typical city transportation problems, such as congestion, narrow ways, lack of the unloading areas, etc. The role of these tasks is analyzed in this paper, on the basis of the chosen parameters and technologies of the transportation process. The purpose of this paper is to study the rational freight fleet formation in the case of changing the parameters of material flow in time. It was found that with the other unchanged parameters of material flow, the change in ambient temperature affects the technological process of transportation, the type of vehicle for its movement and the structure of the vehicle fleet. Accordingly, the types of vehicles (tent or insulated) necessary for the movement of certain material flows, which require special conditions for their transportation, have been determined, in compliance with the temperature regime and periods of their use. The organization scenarios of the transport service of the studied distribution processes were proposed, taking into consideration the change in conditions for the transportation of material flow, purchase of insulated semitrailers or their rent. The proposed versions were calculated and evaluated under the given conditions, and based on the net present value, the best of the proposed options was found: the purchase of one insulated semi-trailer while hiring the remaining insufficient insulated vehicles.

Characteristics have been developed, by which the boundaries of coherence of adjacent road sections are established in accordance with requirements for the traffic safety. The coordination of adjacent sections of the road is carried out taking into account the driver’s behavior program, which is presented in the work as a value of the maximum entropy of his perception field. The choice of this criterion is determined by the possibility of a comprehensive assessment of many road environment factors that influence the driver. The boundaries of coordination of the maximum entropy values of adjacent road sections with use of the accident rate are established.

The basic conceptual idea of logistics is the need to adapt the company to an ever-changing market situation, while spending a minimum of funds in these conditions. The concept of logistics is a system of views on the rationalization of economic activity by optimizing material flows. The paper investigates the change of the main indicators of the functioning of the supply chain, depending on the organization of distribution of the material flow. The supply systems of food products that form the consumer basket at the stage of distribution is considered. The conceptual schemes of freight flow distribution with and without distribution center is presented. The field research was conducted to determine and initial data were collected. The paper investigate the functioning of the supply chain in two cases: in a situation "proposed scenario" and in a situation "without a project". The situation "existing scenario" implies that no action to change the parameters of the supply chain during the period specified for the research does not take place. In this case, it is necessary to assess the effectiveness of the logistics chain under existing conditions. An integrated approach to evaluate the efficiency of the functioning of the logistics system and the consumer had been used. The efficiency of existing of the supply chain functioning were analysed. Also, certain measures will be implemented to improve the chain through investments and by bringing logistics infrastructure with the needs. A modelling of the supply chain was made. The effect of parameters of participants on the supply chain efficiency was analysed. The planned effect from the reorganization of distribution channels is calculated. The technological and economic feasibility of introducing a distribution center into the existing distribution channel based on modeling is calculated. The object of the research is the process of food products distribution in the supply chain. The aim of the research is to evaluate the effectiveness of the food supply chain scheme.

Functioning of transport systems is based on the evaluation of related technical parameters. Longer transit has negative impact on characteristics of citizen’s life activity. Longer travel time, leads to the decreasing leisure time, rising of fatigue and other negative consequences of the humans. From the society perspective, the optimal technological parameters of transportation can be determined considering the enterprises incomes, transport companies costs on the organization of process and value costs of society as a result of the transportation process. The research aim is to measure the transportation costs among passengers on purchase purpose movement. Assessing the monetary impact of transport, non-transport and Internet option while making purchase on different distance can be define the optimal transportation technologies parameters from the perspective of society.

Increased competition between enterprises is a characteristic feature of global modern markets. The growth of trading, transport, forwarding, warehousing and other enterprises lead to increased complexity between these stakeholders. Adoption of logistics management process of transport services due to increased transportation of goods, material flows, and uneven volumes can improve the efficiency of the logistics system. In this regard, the research paper investigates the use of own vis a vis hired fleet and their impact on technological parameters, demand and efficiency of transportation services. The own/ hired fleet ratio estimation for transportation services has been done using project analysis methodology. The developed economic-mathematical model allows modeling of the technological and economic results of the transport service system.

The article is devoted to an analysis of accidents involving pedestrians in traffic. An analysis of the statistical data of accidents involving pedestrians in the Republic of Belarus has been made. The main patterns and trends of accidents involving pedestrians are identified. A detailed analysis of the accident rate at pedestrian crossings and intersections was carried out, which made it possible to establish the most dangerous types of collisions during the interaction of transport and pedestrian flows. Experimental studies of collision situations were also carried out, which made it possible to establish the dependence of the violation rate on the composition of the right-handed traffic flow, on the type of traffic signal that regulates traffic on the right, as well as on the size of groups of pedestrians in front of cars.

Purpose. Modeling the transport network, streamlining the development and planning of traffic flows, which is possible through the introduction of information technology, leads to better control of the transport system and transport operations. The study is aimed at gaining new knowledge on determining traffic routes for vehicle drivers in cities. Currently discovered patterns of drivers choosing traffic routes are offered for all drivers of vehicles, regardless of their individual characteristics. Methodology. When determining the patterns of drivers choosing the routes of vehicles in cities, it is proposed to conduct differentially depending on the individual characteristics of drivers, which are determined by the type of nervous system. Based on the analysis, factors were identified that affect the choice of traffic route for drivers. In order to fix the identified factors, a survey was conducted using a specially designed questionnaire. To take into account the individual characteristics of drivers using a typological questionnaire, the type of nervous system was determined. To determine the patterns of choice of traffic routes for drivers of vehicles, methods of regression analysis were used. Findings. Based on the data obtained from a survey of vehicle drivers, a model was developed for changing the correspondence share implemented by the drivers with the sanguine type of nervous system on the alternative traffic routes. A statistical evaluation of the resulting model indicates the admissibility of its use for predicting the parameters of traffic flows in urban sustainable development projects. Originality. For the first time, the authors conducted a study of the patterns of choice of traffic routes for drivers of vehicles, taking into account the individual characteristics of drivers, which are determined by the type of nervous system. Practical value. Based on the results obtained, it is possible to model the transport network, rationalize the development and plan traffic flows, which is possible through the introduction of information technologies. Modeling the traffic routes of vehicles makes it possible to analyze the throughput of highways and intersections. The introduction of information technology leads to better control of the transport system and transport operations.

The article is devoted to explaining the issue of exploring the patterns of formation of urban traffic flows in case of the development of urban transport systems projects. Existing methods for predicting traffic flow parameters are developed for all drivers of vehicles, regardless of their individual characteristics, and contain only travel time as a parameter. It is proposed to use the route run, travel time, traffic intensity as the possible criteria, the route runs along the main roads, the condition of the road surface, the number of traffic lights on the route, and fatigue when driving. Based on the results of a questionnaire survey of drivers of individual vehicles, the significance of the criteria for choosing a route of movement for drivers with various types of nervous systems is assessed. The most significant criterion was set up when choosing a route for travel is the “condition of the road surface”. The second most important criterion is “run along the route”. The third criterion was “travel time”. The criterion “traffic intensity” has become even less significant for drivers. The next most important criterion was “the route take place over the main roads”. Even less significant was the criterion “quantity of traffic lights on the route”. The criterion “fatigue during movement” became the least significant. To assess the consistency of expert opinions, a concordance coefficient was used. The values of the concordance coefficient showed that there is a consistency of expert opinions both for the total population of drivers and for their groups, divided on the basis of “temperament”. It was found that when choosing a travel route, drivers are guided by numerous criteria. Moreover, the advantage or disadvantage of one or another criterion depends on its individual characteristics, which are determined by the properties of the central nervous system. The interaction between drivers and pedestrians at a pedestrian crossing is studied using the method of ergonomic design. The galvanic skin response (GSR) and changes of the heart rate of drivers have been measured to monitor any emotional state change when encountering a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. If the driver moves away from the pedestrian standing at the roadside edge, the driver experiences a minimal emotional change. However, if there is no vehicle speed and path variation, the driver experiences significant shift in the GSR and heart rate, thus highlighting a possible increase of the stress level. It was based on the research where the distance and current speed have a significant impact on the drivers and pedestrians with the following consequences for their health. To assess the influence of a pedestrian presence on the road on drivers, it was proposed to use the angular velocity of the vehicle with respect to pedestrians. The probability of the pedestrians presence in a dangerous condition for drivers at different distances and speeds of pedestrian crossing made it possible to find an optimal pedestrian position on the road. Thus, the paper proposed a safe distance for pedestrians on the road at a pedestrian crossing in order to reduce the driver stress level in the traffic flow.

Road traffic movement at nightfall (twilight) is characterizing by a reduction of light time of the day and the rapid nightfall onset, thus the driver’s eyes have less time to adapt to rapid sudden changes in illumination. The visual perception and the reaction time of the driver in conditions when pedestrians appear in nightfall conditions on the street and road network in a city is considered in the paper. Researched was conducted in uncontrolled pedestrian crossings in nightfall conditions on Ukrainian roads. Regularities of the vehicle’s driver and pedestrians’ interaction in nightfall conditions are obtained. Road traffic accidents occurrence probabilities at the twilight time considering the driver’s reaction time and the car’s movement parameters was analyzed. As a result, a model for estimating the variation the reaction time of the driver when a pedestrian appears in the nightfall (twilight) conditions was calibrated.

Projecting of urban transport infrastructure, which forms a comfortable habitat and development of territories, is impossible without forecasting the parameters of transport and passenger flows. These parameters are formed under the influence of the subjective choice of urban residents on the routes along the road and route network. The study aims to identify factors affecting the distribution of transport and passenger flows through the existing urban transport network. It is revealed that the gravity function of employees of city-forming enterprises, which determines the emergence and absorption of transport and passenger flows of the city districts, can be described by parameters of urban structure, socio-economic factors and parameters that characterize zones of residence and main area of employment. The developed model was tested on real data from Kharkov - the second largest city in Ukraine.
