Prof. Joseph Stephen is a visiting professor at IREEA. He has extensive experience in material and chemical engineering in developing processes and technologies that convert bio-waste into energy and value-added products. Since 2012, he has been acting as a primary tutor as part of the international biochar training course, hosted by the institute. He received his BSc (Hons) in metallurgical engineering from the University of NSW in 1972 and a PhD from the Department of Architecture and Anthropology, University of NSW, in 1988.
