Biography

My name is Meng-Jen Lee, Professor of the Department of Applied Chemistry in Chaoyang University of Technology, Taiwan. I graduated from National Taiwan University in 1992 (B.Sc.) and obtained PhD degrees from the Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology, University College, London, 1998. I worked as postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Academia Sinica, Taiwan for two years before I left to work at a startup company for biochips. I joined Chaoyang University in 2004 and have worked there ever since. My research interests are mainly in spinal cord injury, ethnopharmacology, and protein expression profiles for diseases, along with the utilization of farm waste for medical or industrial purposes. I currently collaborate with surgeons for the study of biomarkers for trauma and diseases, and another project involves green synthesis using discarded kernels for Sancha Inchi fruits. I used to be a member of the Society for Neuroscience (SFN), but now I am currently a member of the Taiwan Proteomic Society and the Taiwan Extracellular Vesicle (TSEV).
