János Tajti  was born in Gyula, Hungary, in 1958. He received his MD from Szeged University Medical School, Hungary, in 1983 (summa cum laude), his Ph.D. in 1994, his Med. Habil. in 1999, and his doctorate in the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (DSc) in 2017. He is interested in chronic pain syndromes and the pathomechanisms of neurodegenerative disorders and migraine. He earlier worked on these areas at the Department of Anatomy in Szeged (1983-85) and on a fellowship at the Department of Neurology, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, U.S.A. (1989-91). He collaborates with the Unit of Vascular Research, Department of Internal Medicine, Lund University Hospital, Lund, Sweden, on the role of trigeminovascular system in migraine (1997-Present). His main scientific interest is related to the complex pathomechanism of primary headaches and novel strategies for the therapy of these diseases.
