Dr. Aleksandar Valjarević was born on February 13, 1978 in Prokuplje. He graduated from elementary and high school in Prokuplje. He studied geography at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Pristina, enrolled in 1996/1997 and graduated in 2002. During his studies, he showed special interest in the subjects of cartography and mathematical geography. In 2004/2005, he enrolled for a Master's degree at the Faculty of Mathematics in Belgrade, Department of Astronomy, where he graduated with a grade of 10 (ten). On October 11, 2012, he defended his doctoral thesis "Cartographic method in the digitised generalisation of the river network of Kosovo and Metohija" and obtained the academic title of PhD in Earth Sciences. By the decision of the University Council of the University of Pristina, he was appointed Assistant Professor in October 2013. By the decision of the Faculty Council in 2016, he was elected Associate Professor. He is fluent in English (speaks, reads and writes) and Russian (reads and speaks). He has also written three books and a monograph and has more than 80 publications in journals listed in the SCI and a total of more than 300 publications.
