Prof. Fernando G. Torres obtained his Ph.D. degree in Polymer Engineering at the University of Manchester, UK. He is a full professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, and Head of the Laboratory of Polymers and Bionanomaterials. He has coauthored book chapters, conference papers, and over 80 journal papers. He has been a reviewer for multiple indexed journals in the areas of polymers, composites, nano- and biomaterials. His research interests are focused on the structure-property relationships in bio- and nanomaterials and the development of new functional bionanocomposites. He has received several national and international prizes including the Materials Today Embracing Challenge Award in 2017.
