Cloud Manufacturing (CMfg) ambitions to create dedicated manufacturing clouds (i.e. virtual enterprises) for complex manufacturing demands through the association of various service providers’ resources and capabilities. In order to insure a dedicated manufacturing cloud to match the level of customer’s requirements, the cloud service selection and composition appear to be a decisive process. This study takes common aspects of cloud services into consideration such as quality of service (QoS) parameters but extend the scope to the physical location of the manufacturing resources. Unlike the classic service composition, manufacturing brings additional constraints. Consequently, we propose a method based on QoS evaluation along with the geo-perspective correlation from one cloud service to another for transportation impact analysis. We also insure the veracity of the manufacturing time evaluation by resource availability overtime. Since the composition is an exhaustive process in terms of computational time consumption, the proposed method is optimised through an adapted Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm based on initialisation enhancement. Finally, the efficiency and precision of our method are discussed furthermore in the experiments chapter.

The traditional fashion industry is heavily dependent on designers whose talent and vision have a significant impact on their innovative designs. Through taking advantage of recent advances in image-to-image translation by generative adversarial networks (GANs), marked improvement in designers efficiency is now possible. Considering both randomness and controllability in the design process, this article presents a novel artificial intelligence (AI)-based framework for fashion design. Under this framework, a sketch-generation module which is based on latent space is firstly introduced for designing various sketches. Secondly, a rendering-generation module is proposed to learn mapping between textures and sketches to complete the task of fashion design. In order to achieve effectiveness in synthesizing semantic-aware textures on sketches, a multi-conditional feature interaction module is developed in the rendering-generation model. Moreover, two different training schemes are introduced to optimize both the sketch-generation module and the rendering-generation module. In order to evaluate the performance of our proposed models, we built a large-scale dataset which consists of 115,584 pairs of fashion item images. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method, and indicate that our model can facilitate designers design process by taking full advantage of the controllability of different conditions (e.g., sketch and texture) and the randomness of latent space.

Aspect-based (aspect-level) sentiment analysis is an important task in fine-grained sentiment analysis, which aims to automatically infer the sentiment towards an aspect in its context. Previous studies have shown that utilizing the attention-based method can effectively improve the accuracy of the aspect-based sentiment analysis. Despite the outstanding progress, aspect-based sentiment analysis in the real-world remains several challenges. (1) The current attention-based method may cause a given aspect to incorrectly focus on syntactically unrelated words. (2) Conventional methods fail to identify the sentiment with the special sentence structure, such as double negatives. (3) Most of the studies leverage only one vector to represent context and target. However, utilizing one vector to represent the sentence is limited, as the natural languages are delicate and complex. In this paper, we propose a knowledge guided capsule network (KGCapsAN), which can address the above deficiencies. Our method is composed of two parts, a Bi-LSTM network and a capsule attention network. The capsule attention network implements the routing method by attention mechanism. Moreover, we utilize two prior knowledge to guide the capsule attention process, which are syntactical and n-gram structures. Extensive experiments are conducted on six datasets, and the results show that the proposed method yields the state-of-the-art.

On 31 July 2020, the Beidou global navigation satellite system (BDS-3) was officially announced as being commissioned. In addition to offering global positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services, BDS-3 also provides precise point positioning (PPP) augmentation services. The satellite orbit correction, clock correction and code bias correction of BDS-3 and other global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) are broadcast by the BDS-3 geostationary earth orbit (GEO) satellites through the PPP-B2b signal. The PPP-B2b service is available for users in China and the surrounding area. In this study, an initial assessment of the PPP-B2b service is presented, with collected 3-day PPP-B2b messages. Based on broadcast ephemeris and PPP-B2b messages, the precise satellite orbits and clock offsets can be recovered. This precision is evaluated with the precise ephemeris from the GeoForschungsZentrum Potsdam (GFZ) analysis center as references. The results indicate that the accuracy of BDS-3 satellite orbits in the direction of radial, along-track, and cross-track is 0.138, 0.131, and 0.145 m, respectively, and for GPS a corresponding accuracy of 0.104, 0.160, and 0.134 m, respectively, could be obtained. The precision of clock offsets can reach a level of several centimeters for both GPS and BDS-3. Both the performance of static PPP and kinematic PPP are evaluated using the observations from four international GNSS monitoring assessment service (iGMAS) stations. Regarding static PPP, the average convergence time is 17.7 min to achieve a horizontal positioning accuracy of better than 0.3 m, and a vertical positioning accuracy of better than 0.6 m. The average positioning accuracy in the direction of east, north, and up-directions are 2.4, 1.6, and 2.3 cm. As to kinematic PPP, the average RMS values of positioning errors in the direction of east, north, and up are 8.1 cm, 3.6 cm, and 8.0 cm after full convergence.

Mobile edge computing (MEC) makes up for the disadvantages of cloud computing, and has gained a considerable momentum recently. However, the dynamically changing QoS always results in failures of QoS-ware recommendation and composition of MEC services, which significantly negates the advantages of MEC. To address this issue, considering user-related and service-related contextual factors and various MEC services scheduling scenarios, we propose two context-aware QoS prediction schemes for MEC services. The first scheme is designed for the situations when MEC services are scheduled in real-time, which contains two context-aware real-time QoS estimation methods. One can estimate the real-time multi-QoS of MEC services and the other can estimate the real-time fitted QoS of MEC services. The second scheme is designed for the situations when MEC services are scheduled in the future. This scheme includes two context-aware QoS prediction methods. One can predict the multi-QoS of MEC services and the other can predict the fitted QoS of MEC services. Finally, adaptive QoS prediction strategies are developed in the light of characteristics of the proposed methods. According to these strategies, the most appropriate QoS prediction method could be scheduled adaptively. Extensive experiments are conducted to validate our proposed approaches and to demonstrate their performance.

Clustering is a widely used technique in data mining applications for discovering patterns in underlying data. Most traditional clustering algorithms are limited to handling datasets that contain either numeric or categorical attributes. However, datasets with mixed types of attributes are common in real life data mining applications. In this article, we present two algorithms that extend the Squeezer algorithm to domains with mixed numeric and categorical attributes. The performance of the two algorithms has been studied on real and artificially generated datasets. Comparisons with other clustering algorithms illustrate the superiority of our approaches. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Int Syst 20: 1077–1089, 2005.
