Dr. Halil Akinci is a professor of the Cartography Division of the Department of Geomatics Engineering, Artvin Çoruh University, Turkey. He graduated from the Department of Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering at KTU in 1996. He received his M.Sc. (1999) and Ph.D. in Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering at the same university. His Ph.D. thesis topic was “Implementation of Spatial Data Infrastructures with Web Services: Analysis of Current Situation and Determination of Future Tendency”. His research interests are geographical information systems, databases, national spatial data infrastructure, and machine learning. He is a member of the Turkish Chamber of Surveying Engineers.
