Arghir graduated from the Medicine Faculty of Bucharest , Romania, in 1983. Since 1988, she has been a Pulmonologist (fellow in training, 1988-1991, senior from 1997). Her PhD thesis was related to tuberculosis and HIV (finished in 2001) and her habilitation thesis was titled "Interferences, priorities and perspectives of research in pulmonology" (2017). After 30 years of academic teaching and research (1994-2024) at the Medicine Faculty, Ovidius University of Constanta, she became a senior pulmonologist, PhD, and a habilitated professor and coordinator of PhD students at the PhD School of Medicine, Ovidius University of Constanta. At the same time, she is the head of the 2nd Pneumology Department of Constanta Clinical Hospital of Pneumology, continuing research in the domain of tuberculosis.
