Dr. Islan has a bachelor's degree in biotechnology and molecular biology from the School of Sciences, National University of La Plata, Argentina. He pursued his PhD working with lipid based nano-formulations for the delivery of antibiotics at the Nanobiomaterials laboratory in Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo en Fermentaciones Industriales (CINDEFI), Argentina. Currently, he holds a permanent position as adjunct researcher at the Argentinian National Council for Research in Science and Technology (CONICET), leading the Nanobiomaterials laboratory in Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo en Fermentaciones Industriales (CINDEFI), Argentina. His research is based on the study of polymer- and lipid-based nano-systems for the development of novel nanocarriers for drug delivery.
