Dr Yong Wang is an associate professor of geographical information science at the State Key Laboratory of Resources and Environmental Information System (LREIS), Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has been fascinated by the interactions between resources, ecological environment, and public health dimensions in the context of environment changes. His research approach involves the comprehensive use of spatial–temporal analysis models, artificial intelligence learning models, remote-sensing and GIS methods, and field investigation to carry out these interactions. His research topics range from spatial–temporal analysis, ecological environment assessment, remote-sensing image analysis, and GIS application software development. Dr Wang has authored more than 100 papers in the field of ecological environment assessment, spatial analysis, public health, and related fields. He holds seventeen granted patents and more than fifty software copyrights in resource and environment fields.
