Prof. Dr. Ferdinand von Eggeling is apl. Professor of Genetics at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena where he is currently head of the MALDI Imaging research group in the ENT Department and executive manager of the DFG Core Unit JBIL at the Jena University Hospital. Prof. Dr. Ferdinand von Eggeling studied Biology in Erlangen and finished his Ph.D. in 1995 at the Institute of Human Genetics in Jena where he was head of the Core Unit Chip Application until 2013. His main research interests are mass spectrometry imaging of different tumor entities, microdissection and the interaction of fungi and their hosts.
