Prof. Natalia Di Pietro is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Medical, Oral, and Biotechnological Sciences, G. D'Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara (Ud'A), Chieti, Italy. She graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Ancona in 2003 and completed her Ph.D. in Pathophysiology of Metabolism at Ud'A in 2009, including a 2-year stint as a visiting Ph.D. student at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, USA, during her 4-year program. She is a member of various prominent scientific societies and serves as a guest editor and reviewer for several journals. She has participated in numerous national and international conferences (totaling more than 100), including as an invited speaker, and received several awards. To date, she has authored more than 75 publications, including four book chapters. For years, her research has focused on biomolecular mechanisms related to vascular homeostasis disruption and inflammation, contributing to diseases like diabetes, chronic kidney disease, obesity, and neurodegenerative conditions. Since 2020, her interests have expanded to include advancing oral health preservation through innovative biomaterials, dental implants, bone tissue regeneration techniques, osseointegration mechanisms, and soft tissue regeneration pathways. She also explores neoangiogenesis, medical device applications for tissue regeneration, and the regenerative potential of exosomes in various contexts.
