Bartłomiej Tomasik completed MD (2014) and PhD (2019) degrees at the Medical University of Łódź, Poland. He received board certification in Radiation Oncology (2020) and then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA, USA), where he studied mechanisms linking cell-cycle dysregulation and the DNA damage response in cancer models. Then, he returned to Poland and moved to the Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy in Gdańsk. In 2025, he co-founded the Centre for Experimental CardioOncology: https://gumed.edu.pl/pl/ckod. He's a member of the European Society of Radiation Oncology (Early Career Committee and Biology Committee) and the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer. His current work includes the evaluation of real-world prognostic modelling, the integrative analysis of systemic and biological determinants of immunotherapy outcomes across various malignancies, and mechanistic and clinical research on combined modality strategies, including radiotherapy and immunotherapy. He's a mentor to three ongoing PhD students. Bartłomiej Tomasik is a leader of the NCN-funded OPUS grant (Radiotherapy-induced cardiac conduction reprogramming - a molecular perspective) and a PI and main researcher in the ABM-funded (academic) phase III trial comparing SABR and RAPN in localized renal cancer.
