Juan-José Igartua is Full Professor of Media Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Salamanca (Spain). He holds a PhD (1996) and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (1989) from the University of the Basque Country. At the University of Salamanca, he has accumulated over thirty years of academic and research experience in media psychology, communication research methods, and media effects. His research interests include media effects, narrative persuasion, entertainment education, health communication, framing processes, and media representations of immigration. He has led numerous national and international research projects, published extensively, and contributed to several editorial boards and scientific committees. He is a member of the International Communication Association (ICA).
