My main research is focused on the isolation, identification and characterization of extreme microorganisms. Screening of functional activities for different industries and agriculture. Purification and characterization of protein and metabolites. Development and formulation of biological-based products. Experience in the bioprospection of extreme environment including Antarctica and the Atacama Desert. Isolation, identification and characterization of plant associated bacteria. I have participated as Principal Investigator and Associated Investigator in different projects including extremozymes, antifreeze proteins, pigments, antimicrobials, among others.
