Dr. Erika Ribechini is a Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Pisa, affiliated with the Dipartimento di Chimica e Chimica Industriale. She earned her PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Pisa in 2006. Her research centers on developing chromatography- and mass spectrometry-based analytical procedures. These are applied to study and characterize organic natural substances, with a focus on samples from archaeological findings and artworks. Additionally, she specializes in creating tools like Py-GC/MS and EGA-MS. These are used to characterize lignocellulosic biomass and explore its reactivity during pyrolysis.
