Irfan Afzal is passionate about seed science research and discovery of new climate resilient crops like Quinoa in Pakistan. He is leading the Seed Physiology Lab, which focuses on basic and strategic research on on seed quality, maintenance and enhancement. The development and use of innovative technologies regarding seed enhancement and post harvest management is unique in Pakistan seed industry. Presently, he has introduced quinoa and chia varieties to the farming community and highly focused on development and promotion of quinoa and chia crop in the country.
