Biography
Luís Crisóstomo completed his LSc degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2011. In July of 2013, he finished his MSc degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal. From 2014 to 2016, he worked as a Software Engineer at Accenture Technological Solutions, in Lisbon, Portugal. He joined the Sertoli Cell and Gamete Biology group in September 2016 to work on a research project on the role of glycerol and its metabolism in the testicular cells, particularly in Sertoli cells, under the supervision of Pedro F. Oliveira. Soon after, in 2017, he enrolled in the PhD program in Biomedical Sciences at the Biomedical Sciences Institute of Abel Salazar, University of Porto, Porto, Portugal (ICBAS-UP), under the supervision of Marco G. Alves. His research interests are in the metabolic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying the paternally induced transgenerational effects of high-fat diets on male fertility and metabolic health.
