Biography

Molly earned her BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her PhD in Neuroscience at the Medical College of Georgia. Her graduate research focused on the role of the peripheral immune system in traumatic brain injury; in particular, how innate immune responses initiate long-term adaptive immune activation that exacerbates neurological injury. She is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in Jeffrey Iliff 's lab at the VA Puget Sound and University of Washington. Her projects examine the role of perivascular AQP4 loss and impairment of glymphatic clearance of interstitial tau in the development of neurodegeneration after TBI and the possible role of neutrophil extracellular traps in glymphatic impairment and impaired amyloid clearance in Alzheimer's disease.
