I am Vincenzo Cavalieri, a Molecular Biologist from the Department of Biological, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies of the University of Palermo, 90128 Palermo, Italy.
My main fields of interest are Epigenetics, Gene Regulation and Embryogenesis.
My research is carried out mainly on aquatic models (sea urchin and zebrafish) and it is aimed to understand the molecular mechanisms that regulate gene expression in normal and pathological conditions and in response to exposure to substances of potential therapeutic interest.
I make extensive use of molecular, cellular, biochemical, behavioural and in vivo imaging techniques.
