Sidike Paheding is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Fairfield University. His research interests cover a variety of topics in image/video processing, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and remote sensing. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton, Ohio. He was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Computing at Michigan Technological University from 2020 to 2023. Before 2020, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Purdue University Northwest. He is working on a variety of topics in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and remote sensing. He is one of the recipients of the 2020 Best Paper Award from the MDPI journal Electronics and the 2021 Best Paper Award from the journal Remote Sensing, as well as the Best Paper award in ISPRS Geospatial Week 2019. He serves as an associate editor of the Springer journal Signal, Image, and Video Processing. He is also a member of Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Honor Society) and a senior member of IEEE.
